Scientific Committee

The Institute for the Law of the Sea and International Marine Environmental Law (ISRIM) has a Scientific Committe. The members of the Committee are advising ISRIM and supporting the ideas of the Institute. The members are:

  • Prof. Dr. David J. Attard
    Prof. Attard was Director of the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), Malta (1992-2022) and Professor of International Law at the University of Malta. He was also Vice-President (2017-2020) and is Judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), Hamburg (since 2011).

  • Dr. Agustín Blanco-Bazán
    Dr. Blanco-Bazán is an international lawyer and consultant. He was Senior Deputy Director (retired), Legal Affairs, International Maritime Organization (IMO), London.

  • Dr. Ximena Hinrichs Oyarce, LL.M.
    Dr. Hinrichs is the Registrar at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), Hamburg.

  • Prof. Dr. Lorenzo Schiano di Pepe, LL.M. (UCL), LL.M. (Georgetown)
    Prof. Schiano di Pepe is professor at the Department of Law of the University of Genoa. He is also attorney-at-law admitted to the Genoa Bar Association since 2001, practising at the law firm SCD - Avvocati & Partners in Genoa.
