Legal Aspects of Blue Growth

The workshop on "Legal Aspects of Blue Growth: Exploration for and Exploitation of Mineral Resources and of Genetic Resources in Areas beyond National Jurisdiction" will take place on 22 May 2013, 15.30-17.00 h at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, Building "S", Room 207.

The workshop intends to raise awareness and to increase the understanding regarding the two "Blue Growth Focus Areas", i.e. "Biotechnology", "Marine mineral resources" and "Blue technology" according to the EU Communication "Blue Growth - opportunities for marine and maritime sustainable growth" from 13 September 2012.

  • representatives of the maritime industries in Bremen and Bremerhaven as well as in the North-West of Germany;
  • representatives from politics and administration.
