Profile
The Institute for the Law of the Sea and International Marine Environmental Law (ISRIM) is an independent und non-profit research institute in Bremen, Germany. It has a transdisciplinary approach and co-operates with different local, national and international science and research institutions.
ISRIM works under the freedom of science, research and teaching according to Article 5 (3) and Article 19 (3) of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (Deutsche Grundgesetz) and respects the Recommendations of the Commission on Professional Self Regulation in Science (DFG). The Institute for the Law of the Sea and International Marine Environmental Law is dealing with fundamental questions and recent problems in the law of the sea and international marine environmental law from international law, comparative law and EU law. The work of ISRIM includes i.a. the following activities:
- taking part in research projects,
- offering academic lectures,
- publishing of scientific results,
- advising and information of public entities,
- delivering expert opinion.
